Why is my hair thinning at widows peak line?

inNeedofHelp Asked: Why is my hair thinning at widows peak line?

hey guys, so in the past couple months I've noticed my hair has been thinning mostly along the widows peak line bit also on the sides a bit. I've also noticed I've been losing a fair amount of short hairs that can be as short as one cm. As a whole, my scalp is itchier more often now too. I didn't switch any hair products or anything. Its thinning to the extent that sometimes when I wake up I can see bald lines or patches in my hair that can be covered by shifting my hair around. I'm a 20 year old Asian male with no family history of hair loss. I guess it could be possible it's stress induced but I don't feel particularly greater degrees of stress recently.

Thanks for your help!

It could be a lot of things. Premature balding, or even alopecia. I'd suggest going to see your doctor to know 100%

You're younger than normal, and it sounds like you're not genetically prone to it, but that sounds like pattern baldness starting up.You do have some options though.

Do you exercise much?Exercise has in some cases helped to increase hair density over time. It's not so much a raise in hormone levels, as an increase in circulation that helps get blood and nutrients to the scalp.

Rogaine is still out there too. It's got about a 30% success rate and takes 8-12 months to really work well, but it might help.

I wish you better luck than I had!
